Bwat for Windows
Give Bwat a folder on your PC and let it work
The Windows app has everything you get on the web, in its own window. It also has Work mode. Choose a folder, say what you want done, and Bwat works through the files on your computer itself. Summarise a year of reports, turn a folder of notes into one document, or tidy up a mess of files. Leave it running and check back.
Work mode is new and reaches Windows first. macOS and Linux come later.

Your files stay where they are
Work mode changes the files in the folder you picked. Nothing is uploaded to a new drive, and the conversation is saved on your computer. When the AI needs to think about a file, the relevant part is sent through Bwat's servers, the same way it is from VS Code and the CLI.
- Bwat can only work inside the folder you choose
- Changes happen in your real files, in place
- Work conversations are kept apart from your cloud chats
- Closing the app or signing out stops anything running
How much Bwat does on its own
Bwat stops and asks before each change it makes. Use this for your first few jobs, and for folders you'd hate to get wrong.
Made for jobs that take a while
Leave it running
Switch to another chat or step away from the screen. The job carries on, and you can come back to it.
Up to four jobs at once
Each one gets its own folder and its own conversation.
Works with Blender
Bwat can drive Blender on the same computer. Ask it to add a rim light and render the turntable.
One agent everywhere
Windows, VS Code and the CLI all run the same Bwat agent, so what works in one works in the others.
Before you install
- Can I get the Windows app now?
- Yes, from the Microsoft Store. Work mode is the newest part of it and is reaching Windows first.
- Does everything stay on my computer?
- Your files and your Work conversations do. The parts of a file the AI needs to reason about are sent through Bwat's servers to the AI provider, like any other chat.
- Should I use this or VS Code?
- For code, use VS Code, where every change comes as a diff you can review. For everything else in a folder, like documents, spreadsheets, photos and Blender scenes, use the Windows app.
Point it at a folder
Start with something low stakes, like a folder of old reports you'd like summarised, and watch how it works.
